Christine Lee (Cereset) – Rewiring The brain To Find Balance After Trauma and Nervous System Dysregulation

LISTEN, SUBSCRIBE, REVIEW

Episode Summary

Leigh Ann welcomes Christine Lee of Cereset Mission Viejo for a conversation on brain optimization, trauma, nervous system regulation, sleep, and what it means to let the brain rebalance itself. Christine shares her personal story of living with stress, insomnia, trauma, and deep nervous system dysregulation before discovering Cereset as a client and eventually purchasing the practice herself. She explains how Cereset uses read-only EEG sensors and AI-generated acoustic tones to create a “brain echo,” allowing the brain to hear itself and identify where it may be energetically out of balance. Leigh Ann and Christine discuss the difference between supporting the brain’s “hardware” and doing deeper emotional “software” work, especially for clients whose systems feel too hijacked for meditation, breathwork, journaling, or somatic practices to land. They also explore how Cereset may support people navigating trauma, insomnia, concussion, mood dysregulation, medication tapering goals, chronic illness, cancer, mold, mast cell activation, and nervous system overwhelm.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (00:01.4)
Well, Christine, welcome to The Accrescent Podcast.

Christine Lee (00:05.682)
Glad to be here, finally.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (00:07.726)
We have been in each other’s orbit for probably close to two years now. As as I started referring more and more clients to Cereset, which is what we’re gonna get into, I’m so particular, as you know, about who I’m referring clients to. Do I feel safe and comfortable with the locations, the practitioners, the modalities? And so I knew that you had a Cereset location in Mission Viejo, but

Christine Lee (00:14.257)
Thank you.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (00:35.65)
Before I was even comfortable sending anyone there, I wanted to meet in person, get to know you, understand your story a little bit. And since meeting, it’s been such a no-brainer that I think I’ve sent so many clients your way because I believe in the tech so much, but I also love your values and the way that you’re approaching this work. So I’m excited, with all that said, I’m excited to get to give the audience a reintroduction to this technology called Cereset that I absolutely love, but then also.

your experience with it and how how you got to where you are today with Cereset. So welcome.

Christine Lee (01:11.344)
Yes. Glad to be here, especially because I feel like no one knows about this amazing technology and I think it is a solution that people are actively looking for but just can’t get connected to. So I’m here to just answer any and all questions and have people become more familiar with this amazing modality.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (01:32.003)
Right. So I think a good place to start actually is can we just give the audience because we’re gonna be talking about Cereset the whole time. And so I want them to have a general understanding of what is this technology. And so if you can give us that intro, then we might move into how you got introduced to it first as a client before you purchased that facility and are now running your own Cereset.

But what is Cereset for those who have never heard of this before?

Christine Lee (02:03.912)
Cereset stands for Cerebrum Reset, and it’s a unique modality that allows your brain to give itself the answers that it always had. And our belief is that if your brain has an opportunity to listen to itself, then it can actually rewire itself on its own without an external force medication person telling it what to do. So the process is really, really simple. You come in, you sit in a really comfortable chair, and we put EEG sensors on different parts.

Of your scalp that are read-only, and we’ll give you headphones, and in those headphones, you listen to what sounds like a little kid playing piano. Just random piano notes that we call a brain echo. And these are AI-generated tones that allow your brain to essentially experience itself as an acoustic mirror and be able to sort of rebalance itself on its own. So I like to tell people it’s sort of like your brain is like a choir, and the choir has to have earplugs in for a really long amount of time. We take those.

those earplugs out and let the choir listen to itself so the choir recognizes that one side of the brain is overactive or louder than the other and can fix that on its own. So that’s the only modality that I know of that allows the brain to call the shots on how it wants to rewire without anyone else telling it what to do. And that’s why it was so powerful for me when I first learned about it.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (03:27.198)
I completely agree. And especially coming from a more integrative, holistic frame of mind towards health, being able to trust the body’s inherent wisdom is so profound. But, you know, I I have so many clients who will ask me, What do you recommend? What do you think of of course I’m forgetting the name now. There’s there’s one that feels similar, but it’s like magnetic resonance.

Christine Lee (03:49.917)
Right. Yes.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (03:52.823)
And so many other things that involve introducing some external element, right? The magnetic resonance is you’re introducing a magnet to the brain and some of these other things. And it’s not that there’s anything inherently wrong with that, but I think what’s missing is

When we assume we we know exactly where an issue is coming from and then we’re only spot treating that one area, we might be missing the bigger piece of the puzzle. So what I love so much about Cereset is it’s going, hey, all we’re doing is allowing the brain to re-identify where it’s out of tune.

And once it identifies that misattunment or whatever word we might use there, it’s able to course correct by itself without us needing to interject any foreign substance, object, energy, et cetera.

Christine Lee (04:31.019)
Personal.

Christine Lee (04:45.053)
Absolutely. My belief is that your brain is the only entity that’s been with you from beginning to end. So why would it not make sense for us to refer and give that entity the respect it deserves and giving our brain the answers that it has always had? So I think that’s why Cereset has been so effective for so many people because we are respecting the brain as it should be. So I’ve tried a lot of modalities out there.

and have seen results to a certain extent as well. But I think the reason why Cereset worked so well for me was because my brain had the answers and I was allowing it to give those answers to me. So I believe in it as you can see the way I talk about it. Yeah.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (05:30.028)
Right. Right. I do too as someone who’s done quite a bit of Cereset because I just know and see how powerful it is. We’ll get more into some of the nitty-gritty of who is this technology for? What what do treatments look like, etc.? But l I’ll take us now back to your origin story, which is how did you get introduced to Cereset and only as much as you’re comfortable, but

What is it you or might have been experiencing or felt stuck in, what might have been some of the different things you had tried previously and then how you found Cereset and how it impacted you?

Christine Lee (06:10.633)
Absolutely. Well, I think a lot of people can resonate with this, but from a very young age I felt like I wasn’t experiencing the full potential of my brain. Whether that was things like too much stress, like insomnia, because of the really heavy study schedule I had as someone who’s very academically gifted, I just knew that even though I was performing at a high level that there was something missing. And the word stuck was a word that came up a lot. I feel stuck in stress, I feel stuck

And procrastination, something was just not the way that I knew my brain could really function at. So I went through a lot of my early childhood feeling that way, but being able to perform at such a high level that it wasn’t much of an issue. Once I got to college, I started having really bad insomnia. I wasn’t waking up feeling rested, and I just felt a lot of brain fog, just the typical things that a lot of people.

feel are normal, but I like to say that just because it’s common doesn’t mean it’s normal or just right for the brain to experience. So I was just making it day by day, functioning, getting through the day, performing at a good enough level, until one day in my twenties a very, very traumatic incident came into my life. And it was such a traumatic thing to me that after that, no matter how

I tried, I just could not get back to the place of functioning that I used to be. And some of the symptoms that I’ve experienced were things like vomiting so much that I lost a third of my body weight, not being able to go outside, just being at a place where my world was closed off as someone who had everything open to them. And one of the biggest griefs that I’ve experienced was an inability to do music. And prior to you.

You know, even going to Cereset or even meeting Cereset, I was in love with music. I was a songwriter, I was working in the K-pop industry, and I thought that was gonna be my entire life. That was where my vision was set, and I was in love with it. But with this traumatic incident, I could not speak Korean anymore, I could not sing anymore. Those things were all taken away from me, and not just because it gave me grief to do that, but it was like my brain sort of lost.

Christine Lee (08:39.959)
Off that part of me and said, This is unsafe for you to do. And just for the viewers out there, I’m I’m comfortable talking about it, but just a little trigger warning when it comes to things like assault. But I had gone to a practitioner who had unfortunately taken advantage of my vulnerabilities and had assaulted me. And not only had he assaulted me, but he brought up the fact that I was a songwriter and he brought up the fact that my ethnicity was a part of why he targeted.

Targeted me. So a lot of those things were very heavy, very awful and horrific, and honestly life-ending, if not just life-altering. So when I came to Cereset, it was at a point where I was so desperate to find any sort of functioning.

That I had tried literally everything. And I think a lot of people resonate with you know being so desperate that they will try whatever works so that they can get their sleep back, that they can get their peace back, so that they can get their sanity back. So when I came to Cereset, I didn’t even imagine that I’d own this practice. My dreams had been obliterated, and the only thing that I was really wishing for was just that I could go outside again, that maybe I could.

Just even sing again. Maybe I could be given back the things that had given me joy. So I came in with very little expectations and just a last sort of bit of hope that maybe, just maybe, that there was an answer here for me that wasn’t out there anywhere else. And when I came to Cereset, the one thing that resonated with me so much as someone who had maybe just the dregs of hope left in my cup was that I had never left.

Let my brain decide how it wanted to rewire. Yes, I had tried medications, I had tried therapy, I tried to throw whatever I could at my brain hoping that it would work. But I saw this little quote by Dr. Charles Tegeler, who does a lot of research what Cereset, and it was the fact that this technology is non-invasive, non-pharmacological, and allows the brain to rewire on a subconscious level is so.

Christine Lee (10:58.612)
So exciting. And I realized I had never in my life encountered anything that did that for the brain until I came to Cereset. So I put down the last of whatever money I had, and I decided that this is the last thing I’m gonna try. Otherwise, I think I’m going to need to accept that my life as I know it is not gonna be there anymore. And sure enough,

This technology gave my life back to me. And I know a lot of people can talk about placebo effect or just convincing your brain that something is working. And I believe in the power of that. I believe that the brain is powerful enough that it can give itself a new reality. But this was something different. It was as if the fog in front of my eyes that had not just been there for the three years since I had experienced that big trauma was there, but it was going back to

Just childhood. It was like these the fog had lifted, and I was able to see the world as how it was, instead of shaded by a lens of survival, a lens of having to fight for my place in society, a a lens of having to run away in case that there was danger. It was just seeing the world as it was.

And that happened for me relatively quickly. Whereas in one month I went from someone who was not able to even go outside or work to someone who was able to work for a film director and organize an NFT film festival for him. That was undeniable, Leigh Ann. That is not something that can be faked. It is not something that can be forced. It just

Leigh Ann Lindsey (12:33.974)
Mm.

Right.

Christine Lee (12:40.594)
Effortlessly happened, and as someone who had always tried to force their way into gratitude or functioning, I knew this was different. So that’s how my journey started. It started as coming in with very little to no hope, and then experiencing what this technology could do for myself, and then really believing that this is a one-of-a-kind thing that people don’t know about, but if they did.

This could be the answer that people are looking for that I was looking for. So that’s how I fell in love with it.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (13:12.782)
Yeah. Yeah. What I’ll rewind us to for a second is you detailed how there was already pre-existing stress from a high performing active life. And then I’m so sorry that there was this assault that happened. And that that then started to make your world become smaller and smaller and smaller to where

It wasn’t just this chronic stress, but I’m still functioning. It really was I’m not able to function in society the way I might hope to. I’m not able to have a job. I’m so just leaving the house is a thought that is so overwhelming and scary for me that I’m not able to leave the house. The isolation that comes from that, the hopelessness, the despair that comes from that. And so it’s powerful because.

You were in such a severe place and it’s so beautiful to me that you’re sharing that with all of us so vulnerably because it’s tender and hard to share those depth moments, which I think makes that testament to Cereset all the more powerful, which is I was in such a severe place, and this helped turn it around so quickly.

Christine Lee (14:32.989)
So I like to think of it as straws on the camel’s back. I think the brain is really powerful. It can deal with and regulate a great amount of stress. As I’ve seen in my clients who work in fields like first responding, like healthcare, being a police officer, a firefighter. But that last event was what just took away all functioning for my brain. So I could feel the stress.

All of that building up to a point where, you know, my memory wasn’t as great, my focus wasn’t as great. But then again, I could do things like journal or meditate, bring myself back to a place of function again. But I think what Cereset does is it really takes away the layers, peels back the layers of the brain and gets to the root source and the cause of where the dysfunction is. And I think a lot of people don’t realize that it all starts at.

the brain. And once we can get to the root cause of that and let the brain realize on its own

where that problem is coming from, I think that’s a more effective way of getting to a source of balance instead of what I call outside in modalities, where we’re trying to throw stimuli or any sort of intervention and hoping that the brain responds to it. So I like to think of Cereset as a very inside out modality where we start at the root cause and then see how that cascades into affecting the rest of the body. So th I knew I think if I come to Ceres sooner,

had I’ve still seen results that have made me believe in it. But I think coming from a place of such dysfunction, seeing that with data and then seeing how my brain could resolve that on its own was so powerful that when I was offered the opportunity to buy this business, even with very little entrepreneurship experience, I said yes because of the depth

Christine Lee (16:31.649)
of what I experienced what Cereset. So in some ways I am very, very grateful for s what I’ve gone through and then seeing how that brought my brain back to balance because without that I would not have experienced the power of what this technology could have done for me. So

Leigh Ann Lindsey (16:50.499)
I feel like that was my experience as well, which is I had had a family member who had done Cereset years ago and had amazing things to say about it. It was something that had been on my radar for a long time, but hadn’t personally experienced it myself. And then what happened was I was going through a huge relationship breakup, moving into a new home, about to start my PhD, and I felt like my

Body had become hijacked. I not quite as extreme as you, but I couldn’t really keep food down. I was throwing up all the time. I had insomnia where I just would lay in bed for hours and hours and hours, could not fall asleep. It was like I could feel, you know, if if the engine comes down, but it just never could really turn off. And it was it was starting to scare me because.

Christine Lee (17:41.697)
Right.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (17:45.356)
As you know, I’m in this field of emotional wellness. And so I was pulling on all the resources, the meditation, the breath work, the somatic movement, and nothing was cutting it. Whereas typically those might have been tools that were really supportive, and none of those seemed to be able to make a dent in whatever was happening within my body. And so that was the moment for me when I was like, okay.

The hijacking is more severe than what the breath work or the meditation can overcome. I need to bring in, you know, the big guy, the big guns, so to speak. And and so that was when I tried Cereset and it was absolutely life-changing because again, probably within the first one or two sessions, my sleep had restored itself, the vomiting had started, and it literally felt like I got my life back again.

Christine Lee (18:21.506)
Yeah.

Christine Lee (18:39.335)
Absolutely. I like to tell people like it’s hardware versus software.

I think on a conscious level, we can alter the software of our brain all we want, we can add apps, we can update our operating systems. But if the ongoing hardware of our brain is wired to keep us alive, is running away from a bear all the time, then no matter how much we update our software, the hardware is still running a program of survival. And I think there are a lot of people out there who are great at coping, who know the skills, who are incredibly

Deep and resilient, who don’t realize that it’s not just a conscious effort. There is physical hardware and energetic imbalance that’s happening from the ground up. And I feel like the most effective way for that hardware to update and change is for the brain to be able to listen to itself. So the most common metaphor that I use is imagine your brain is a choir, it has a bass section, a tenor section, and a soprano section, and there’s the left and the right.

Side of the choir. The choir can sing as loud as it wants, but if it has earplugs in, it can’t hear that the left side of the choir, the sopranos might be screaming, while the basses on the other side might be too quiet. And that’s actually exactly how we can measure stress fitness right here in the temporal lobes. I when I came in realized that the choir on the right side of my brain was screaming in the bass, tenor, and soprano section. And no matter how much I

Was doing the breath work, I was meditating, the choir wasn’t realizing that. It was just becoming louder and louder as it was trying to keep me alive. And that’s the brain’s job. It’s to keep us alive and protect ourselves. But sort of like looking at a book too close up, it is so embedded in that process that it can’t recognize that unless it gets an opportunity to sort of take a step back, listen to itself, and realize, hey, this does not need to be my ongoing reality.

Christine Lee (20:44.96)
So I think when I started Cereset and my hardware was able to recognize that these imbalances were not necessary to keep me alive, that’s when the things like breath work, somatic experiencing, journaling, it actually started to work. Whereas before it was like throwing a rubber ball at a wall. It was like no matter what I was doing, my brain still perceived itself as having to run away or or fight a bear. And I think a lot of

People are walking around in the world knowing on a very, you know, just rational level that that’s not the case. But society brings a lot of stimuli at us that I think jacks our bodies and our brains into a state of

Being in fight or flight or even being in freeze, where a lot of people think, you know, let’s go into the parasympathetic mode. But what we’re looking for is not just being on one side or the other. We’re looking for an energetic balance between the left and the right hemispheres of the brain. So I think that’s something that a lot of people don’t know. That even though we feel that our baseline is, you know, we can function, we’re doing pretty well, but on a deep, deep level, I think our brains know that there is some stuckness and

There’s some dysfunction that can always be addressed and optimized. So that’s what we do: brain optimization. We take potential that your brain has and is utilizing in ways that is not serving you, and we allow it to serve you in the way that can let you live your best life. And I know that my story, a lot of people have intense stories when they come in here, but I think the misconception is that just because there’s not something that is active.

actively affecting your life doesn’t mean that there’s not potential that your brain has for you or even hidden gifts as a lot of my clients are discovering that their brain has for them and that’s a lot of fun to work with.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (22:41.167)
To your point, when I introduce Cereset to clients, the way that I help them understand this is how much I love and believe in this modality is I’ll tell them this is something that if I, if every human on this planet could do, like we would all be in a much better place. It’s one of those things that I genuinely, genuinely feel that every single person on this planet could do.

Christine Lee (23:01.179)
Yeah, absolutely.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (23:07.703)
And would notice really profound benefits from. So that’s just kind of a baseline. With that said, we’ll get more into who might it really serve best and why. But to that end, I want to come back briefly to the hardware versus software, because this is what I coach my clients through, is what I so often see is, you know, that in my practice, we’re looking at what’s going on in the unconscious, what are the repressed emotions, what are the narratives and beliefs that got

Christine Lee (23:14.001)
Okay.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (23:37.136)
Created from childhood experiences, traumatic experiences, generational birth trauma, et cetera. So I’m working mainly with the software. And what I see sometimes is if the hardware is too hijacked, too locked down, it is very, very hard to work with or update the software. And so

There’s definitely occasions where someone might come in to see me and try and want to start work together. And I might say, actually, I think we need to support the hardware first. Go do a series of Ceresets, come back and then we’ll start doing some of that deeper unconscious work together.

And so I they very much play off each other. And I think sometimes the reverse is also true where some people are only focusing on the physical body and they’re stuck. And so we need to focus on the software a little bit. But that is I want to share that because that is my experience as a practitioner. Sending clients to use this technology is when the physical body just feels so hijacked.

And we’re doing that deep unconscious work to support the quote unquote software, but the physical body still feels so hijacked. That for me is one of the biggest signs of we gotta go support the hardware.

Christine Lee (24:57.518)
Absolutely. Yeah. I think everything that we’ve been through since childhood

builds pathways in our brain that have been with us for a really long time. So even though those pathways might have worked for us throughout our lifetime, it doesn’t mean that it’s the most efficient or self-serving for the brain. So our process is about building the most optimal pathways that allows your brain to not only be energetically imbalanced but use energetic potential so that it can do the things you want, whether that’s you know, being a better parent, running

A marathon or just utilizing your brain to the best of its ability. So we have athletes, celebrities, high-functioning executives who know that stress affects the brain. I think we all know that on a baseline level, but I think the amount, like the way that stress really targets the brain and limits us from being the people that we want to be is still something that we don’t really experience or know until we experience the other side of that.

What happened to me because when we go throughout our lives, we’re used to the baseline of what our brain is capable of. So I have really high-functioning people who are under a lot of stress come in, look at their graphs, which is really fun in Cereset, being able to see your brain represented as data, and just tell me, well, I don’t really resonate with that, I’m feeling fine. And after they go through Cereset and their brain recalibrates all that stuck energy on those.

right side or the left side or even in different parts of their brain, that’s when they realize, I did not know that this was possible for me. I did not know this reality where my brain is utilizing energy in a more effective way.

Christine Lee (26:50.109)
could open up so many doors for me that I did not realize. So I tell people when they start this process that your brain could have unexpected gifts for you that even we can’t predict. So beyond just getting better sleep, better energy, better mood, which is all great and all, I’ve had people say that they’ve gotten childhood memories back, that they’ve blocked out because of trauma, that they wanted to remember. I’ve had people say their eyesight has improved. I’ve had people say that they’ve been able

Able to read a book in one sitting and haven’t been able to do that since childhood. So

There are so many things that I think the brain has in store when it can get to a state of energetic balance and knowing that I’m not in survival, I’m not dying, I can just utilize this energy that I’ve been, you know, putting away to just get throughout the day into the things that my brain really wants to do. And a lot of people think that neuroplasticity stops after a certain age, and I’ve seen with my own two eyes that that’s simply not true. We’ve had people in their six.

60s, 70s, even 90s, be able to rewire their brains and build a better brain for themselves. So I think the sky’s the limit when it comes to how you want to optimize your brain. So whether your goal is to sleep better or just to have a more effective brain that functions better, I think Cereset is one modality can do all of that for you.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (28:23.343)
Right to you to that end, it’s this is something that could be really supportive for high performers who want to see, my gosh, where where have I capped myself out? And if I support my brain, can I go even higher? Can I perform even better? Whether that’s a professional athlete or a CEO. This could be for the parents who are just like, I know I’m stressed, my life’s good, but this might be able to help me.

Have more calm, have less anxiety in the day-to-day, have more patience with my kids. Where I see it being the most impactful, and this is because this is the demographic I’m working with so much, though, is when there’s severe trauma or even when there’s a health diagnosis. I you know that I work so much with cancer, with chronic illness, and I can’t tell you how many clients come in to see me, and because I’m part of an integrative medical facility.

They’re doing lots of additional integrative testing that might be telling them all these different things. And so often some of the testing they’re doing is around the state of the nervous system. And and so they’ll they’re getting these quantitative numbers back of your nervous system is stuck. And they’ll start to say, like, it doesn’t matter what I’m doing, my nervous system is stuck in fight or flight.

Christine Lee (29:31.185)
Absolutely.

Christine Lee (29:45.63)
Yeah.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (29:45.794)
And again, this is where I’ll tell them, you know, if we’ve tried to bring in the meditation, the journaling, the the breath work, all of the regulation techniques and the nervous system is still stuck. For me, that’s a we gotta bring in the big guns, which is Cereset, to help things rebalance because it’s been hijacked.

Christine Lee (30:05.883)
Yeah, a hundred percent. And as someone who has tried to force my way into nervous system regulation

Leigh Ann Lindsey (30:12.237)
Mm.

Christine Lee (30:12.963)
It just doesn’t happen the way we want it to. And it’s not because our brains are deficient. It’s not because we’re lacking, which is what I think a lot of people feel like. Like, what is wrong with me? Why can’t I get back there? It’s because the brain is just doing a really good job of protecting you. That’s what it’s there for. We just help your brain realize that that’s you don’t have to live in that reality anymore. And I know that nervous system regulation is such a buzzword these days. It’s what everyone is talking about.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (30:39.259)
Right, exactly.

Christine Lee (30:42.651)
And I think that’s

We all know that our nervous systems need to be balanced and regulated, but getting there, it’s not a linear pathway, but it wasn’t for me until I found Cereset. And it made so much sense to me because, you know, it was like no external stimuli, no conscious input. What if we let your brain just relax and let it rewire without forcing it? I think that’s was the key word for me. Not forcing

rebalance and as someone who has forced a lot of things in my life, whether and I agree with just training the brain, getting it to be stronger, but there are certain things, especially in the trauma world that we’ve gone through where it’s been layers and layers had built up over that. And to get to the bottom of that layer, what is more effective than letting the brain relax, not think, not force, and just rewire these ineffective pathways on its own. So

What I loved about Cereset when I first came in was seeing a graph of my data, seeing from zero to hundred, the bass, the tenor, the soprano frequencies, where it was imbalance in the left and the right side of the brain. So when people come into Cereset, we don’t just, you know, tell them like ask them, How are you feeling? It’s not just the subjective sort of scale. We look at hard data. And as people go from session to session, we can actually show them.

Energy has been shifting from the left to the right side of your temporal lobe, and it is actively rebalancing and rewiring energy and pathways that it was not doing before. And people have been coming in stuck, not just for days or weeks, but months, years, decades, and finally seeing that shift. And I think that was what was most powerful for me: seeing the data.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (32:33.185)
Uh-huh, uhhuh.

Christine Lee (32:41.75)
And being able to see my brain shift in real time. Instead of someone telling me, Well, are you feeling better? Are you sleeping better? Like I needed hard data to show me that there was change. And that was the one difference that Cereset’s modality gave me versus just talk therapy or any other modalities out there, which I am very much in support of. I think Cereset in conjunction with a lot of

Leigh Ann Lindsey (32:51.747)
Mm-hmm.

Christine Lee (33:07.539)
modalities it’s actually sort of like a booster pack. You know, when you play Mario Kart and you get like a little rocket booster, it allows things to be so much more effective because one is a brain is in a state of flexibility, being able to recognize when it’s stuck and move to balance instead of staying stuck for a long time. That’s when real progress happens. And I found that a lot of people have been stuck and unable to get unstuck and what Cereset does is

Leigh Ann Lindsey (33:11.449)
Mm-hmm.

Christine Lee (33:34.72)
giving the brain the capacity to recognize when it’s stuck and move back to balance. So I tell people, you’re going to experience stress. You’re going to experience things that will drive you into survival states. And that’s a good thing. But what we what people don’t want is to stay in that state for a prolonged period of time more than necessary. And I think what that’s what Cereset gives back to people, the ability to recognize, get unstuck, and then find balance on their own.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (34:03.289)
Something I want highlight too is that it’s completely passive, which is really powerful. I’m sure we’ll get into what does a session look like, but essentially you are just sitting there listening to these tones. There is nothing else you have to do or think or say to allow this technology to be effective. And why that is so powerful for me as a practitioner referring clients to this is there’s two big cases I see.

One is sometimes we are in such a state of hardware hijacking, if you will, that clients don’t even have the physical capacity to meditate, to journal, to do breath work. It truly is like that is too much for me right now. And that is so real. I I’m thinking of my cancer patients. I’m thinking of people in severe states of depression or anxiety where

They have all the intention and desire to do some of these supportive techniques, but it is so far beyond their capacity. And so to be able to go, hey, you don’t have to do any meditation, you don’t have to look up a somatic exercise, you don’t have to journal for five minutes, you just go sit in a chair.

Christine Lee (35:13.832)
Yeah.

Christine Lee (35:20.564)
Yeah, that’s you just sit in a chair and hopefully take a really nice nap and that’s it. Which is crazy to me. There’s no effort involved. You don’t even need to talk about what you went through. You just come in, lie down in our nice little zero-gravity chair, and then just listen to these piano notes. And a lot of people just take really great naps. I take such deep naps that I wake up and I don’t know where I am. That’s it. That’s

Leigh Ann Lindsey (35:26.99)
That’s it.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (35:48.654)
Yeah.

Christine Lee (35:50.213)
It blew my mind when I first heard about it. And a lot of people think this is way too good to be true. There’s no way you can just sit in a chair and let your brain fix itself. But I’d like to tell the audience it it absolutely is. It is it is so true. And it is to the point where I bought the business after four months. That’s how much I believe in it. Like there’s no other testament than that, you know, going from being a songwriter to taking on

Just the responsibility of running this practice. And I think that’s why we’re still running, Leigh Ann. We don’t do any advertisement, we don’t have any social media presence. People come to us and keep coming to us like you because it works and it continues to work for people. And there are people who tell me that, and especially coming from an immigrant background, that there is no other modality that just lets you be.

and gives you the results that you want. A lot of what we see out in the world does not work like that. It requires effort, it requires hard work. But when it comes to the brain, it’s counterintuitive, it’s paradoxical, but it works. And that’s why I’m here doing this work today.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (37:07.575)
Absolutely. So for the audience who’s listening, walk us through, and then it’ll be fun to get into some maybe client stories of just really powerful change. But what what does a session look like? If someone were were to call you today and say, hey, I’m so interested in doing this, what can I expect? What can they expect in terms of that first session? What can they expect in terms of frequency, etc.? Give us a little bit of the scoop on that.

Christine Lee (37:11.208)
Mm-hmm.

Christine Lee (37:35.215)
Absolutely. All clients start out with a series of five sessions. Your time in the chair will be anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour, and we build that up as your brain gets accustomed to Cereset. But what we really focus on is dosage of sessions. Every brain comes in at a different state. Some brains come in having dealt with years of trauma, autoimmune illness. Other brains come in with just the daily stresses of everyday life.

So we do a full intake, we see all the factors affecting your brain, and we determine what frequency of sessions would benefit your brain the most. And we definitely believe that less can absolutely be more. So timing the session so that your brain is not overworked, it’s not overtired is very, very important to us. So after we do an initial intake, during your first, fourth, and fifth sessions, we track

Satisfaction scores for clients in areas like energy, mood, sleep, thinking abilities, things that you want to see improvement in. So we see how those personal satisfaction numbers change, but we also go over how your graphs are changing during these sessions. So your first fourth and fifth sessions might be a little longer than the other sessions where we’re only doing, you know, time in the chair. But when you’re in the chair,

It’s really comfortable, the lights are dimmed. It’s an an zero-gravity chair, so you’re leaning back, just fully relaxed. And we use a little bit of gel to put these little EEG sensors on different parts of your scalp. And throughout the session, as you’re listening to these tones, we’ll come in really, really quietly. And while you’re relaxing, we’ll move those sensors in different places around your brain. So that your brain is getting a holistic picture of the energetic imbalances in.

all its parts. So we don’t just do the frontal lobes or the temporal lobes, which is where emotional and stress fitness are measured. We do the occipital lobes, we do the parietal lobes, we even like work on the midline of the brain so that the brain can see any and all energetic imbalances that it has. And after the first five sessions, which is the minimum amount of sessions that every client need, we recommend a continuing support schedule that we call a tune-up schedule. So this is catered

Christine Lee (39:55.414)
individually to your brain and your goals, whether that’s you know, overwhelmed from being a parent or just preparing for a big soccer game or preparing for finals, we will determine a set and individualized session dosage for you so that your brain can be the best that it can be. So for some clients it looks like once a month. Some clients it can be once a week because people just want more support and know that they want more results.

Some clients who travel from far, we’ve had people come from Australia, from Northern California, from other states. you know, maybe they’ll do like three sessions in a week every six months. But we make sure that this process is catered to your individual needs because every brain is unique. And I think that’s where Cereset really shines. We’re able to meet each brain where it’s at and help it optimize to what it’s capable of.

based on what journey it’s it’s come through.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (40:54.179)
Yeah. I know when I did the my very, very first round of five, it was one a week for five weeks. And now I do it typically, although Christine, you’ll know that I haven’t been as good lately because I my schedule’s been so crazy, but typically I love to do it at least once a month. And then if I’m in a more stressful period, like s earlier this year, there was a time where I came in once a week and then I was going every other week because I could feel how stressed I was.

Much it was affecting my physiology, and so I wanted to get ahead of it. I didn’t want to let it become this really big cascade of a hijacking. So I that’s how much I love it though. And I also, you know, stress and lots of responsibilities, as so many of us have. I’ve also had six head injuries, so I know my brain is a little bit more sensitive than maybe the average brain to stress can throw me out of balance a lot quicker than maybe some person some people. So for me.

I love to do it once a month because I know it helps keep me on track. It helps prevent stress. It helps prevent the overwhelm from happening. But like I said, if I’m in a stressful period, it’s it’s the first thing I’ll do. I will book a Cereset before I book a massage, before I book a facial, before I book a vacation, like because I know Cereset is the thing that is going to be the most supportive for me when I am in a high stress place.

Christine Lee (42:20.628)
Absolutely speaking of which

Traumatic brain injury and concussion are some of the biggest demographics that we work with. And it’s because the inventor of Cereset, Lee Gurdies, had a traumatic brain injury himself that led to mental health side effects. Just everything in his life was affected by it. And he was told just point blank by a lot of medical professionals that this is just the way that your life was gonna be. Like just accept it and and live with it. And he decided that that was not the reality he wanted for himself.

So I actually had a concussion a couple months ago and it was gratefully so so minor. My car was barely scratched, but that whiplash of being rear-ended, the car behind me accelerated. I I knew something was wrong. I could feel this is a concussion, and I was diagnosed with it. And I was very lucky to come into Cereset and within a period of two sessions.

I was back to normal and I was not after the concussion. Half of my head was numb, my memory was off, and I went into the ER twice and they told me, Yeah, you have a concussion, just rest up, you know, it’ll go away. But the symptoms of what I’m ex experiencing was so severe, and it was my first time actually experiencing a concussion after even owning a Cereset, where I thought, well, this is gonna be very interesting for me to see how this

This will change the trajectory for me. And it was immediate. Even in my graphs, I could see my brain was stuck in fight or flight again. And a lot of people may not know this, but you can actually be stuck in fight or flight and freeze at the same time. People just think it’s one or the other. I was in a state of sympathetic and parasympathetic and sympathetic imbalance. And that’s sort of like when the you know the hardware of the brain is sort of pressing the gas pedal and the brake pedal at the same time. It is incredibly exhaustive.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (43:58.223)
Right.

Christine Lee (44:19.967)
Exhausting, it is not optimal for the brain to experience that at all. So it drains a lot of energy from the brain. And after my concussion, that was the pattern that I was seeing. And within a span of two weeks, my brain had been able to find itself back to balance. So that was my first experience just.

you know, just working on myself after a concussion. So that’s a big demographic that we work with because hitting your head will put you in a state of survival and keep you stuck there. And now I can say that I have firsthand experienced that and have worked on that and resolved that on my own through Cereset.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (44:55.609)
Right.

Yeah, I know. I’m so sorry. And I having had so many head injuries, I know what that’s like. And I remember after my fifth concussion, going to my neurologist and saying, What can I do? Like I feel dumb. And I I I don’t mean that in like a derogatory way, but I I can tell I can’t think as quickly. my memory is terrible. I

Christine Lee (45:08.209)
Yeah.

Christine Lee (45:14.951)
Mm-hmm.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (45:24.011)
I am forgetting my brother’s name who’s standing right in front of me. I know I know him, but I cannot remember his name. And the neurologist said, N no, there’s there’s nothing out there. You just have to wait and let it heal. And same thing, I remember being like, this really can’t be all we’ve got going on.

Christine Lee (45:37.096)
Yeah.

Christine Lee (45:43.639)
absolutely. And I think probably a lot of the audience or people who are listening to this podcast can resonate with the frustrations of Western medicine and being a being told there is nothing wrong. Just wait. When you deep inside know for a fact that there is there is something that is not right. I think our bodies and our brains are so smart and we know when something is off. We know when there is potential to be realized, we know when there is something that needs to be addressed.

That perhaps a lot of you know Western medicine will just brush over or tell us that this is normal. But again, I I use this phrase a lot. Just because it’s common does not mean it’s normal. And I believe it when people come in and say that they don’t feel like they’re at their best, they don’t feel like something is right. I think we need to listen to our brains and our bodies, and that’s how I got to Cereset. This belief that

I know something is off, even though I was told by professional after professional

That it was just stress, or it was just a matter of being able to relax more. And I think a lot of people know that that’s not the final answer. And it might be easy just to be like, okay, this is just my reality. But I think where Cereset is so special, is it’s a modality for people who know that there is potential and that there is so much more for them that’s capable that they’re capable of beyond what they’re being told that they.

need to accept. So I think Cereset can help so many people. Where it’s insomnia, which is everyone’s dealing with sleep issues, right? Stress, or even just concerns about healthy aging, I know Alzheimer’s, dementia, this is a big thing that we worry about, preventing that.

Christine Lee (47:37.718)
But the ideal the person that Cereset works the best for, regardless of what you’ve gone through, is a person that believes in their brain. They believe in the power of their brain, they believe in the potential of their brain, and they believe that their brain can take them to places that the outside world just is not aware of yet. And I am so grateful to see these reality defying things happen in front of me.

Whether that’s a mom that comes in who is so overwhelmed and at the end of her rope that has locked her car keys in her car for the third time this week and is worried that she can’t be the best mom she can be within the span of months telling me that she’s sleeping better, that she’s functioning better, that she is being present for her children.

People who have been told that it’s hormones of stress and just being given what I call band-aids for bullet holes, symptom regulation.

living very, very different lives. That is where I am so grateful I get to do this work. Because it’s not just, I’m feeling a little bit better. It is a complete paradigm shift in how people are living their lives. And I don’t think a lot of people know that this is something that is out there for them. I would say even for me, I didn’t know that Cereset existed. I couldn’t have Googled my way to finding this no matter how hard I tried. It was because my physical therapist

sat me down and told me, Christine, I cannot I can’t help you. I can’t like

Christine Lee (49:17.492)
you know, move another organ or a nerve to help your brain realize that it’s safe. And I need you to try this because it helped me so much. So I say 98% of the population doesn’t know that there’s a modality out there that does not require medication, does not require you talking about what you went through, where you can just sit in a chair, take a really good nap, and see your brain

Just optimized to the best of its ability. I know there’s that really famous movie with Bradley Cooper in it called Limitless, where he takes that magic pill and then suddenly the brain is able to utilize all its full potential. This is the closest that I think I’ve ever gotten to seeing something like that happen.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (49:51.601)
huh.

Christine Lee (50:05.174)
So being able to think better. My chess game improved. My foreign language pickup doubled. My memory playing memory games and actually measuring my memory, I could see actual results and changes in that. So if you want to just explore what your brain is capable of, I don’t know a better modality than Cereset that can

allow not only your full potential for your brain to be explored, but to also couple that with other modalities and see how that really plays into people’s lives. Cause once I started doing Cereset, as someone who had no capacity for journaling, meditation, all those fun and wonderful things, that’s when I felt like really that Mario Kart character where I get that rocket booster and I’m soaring far ahead after sort of circling in stagnation for so long.

But I believe in it, Leigh Ann, I really do.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (51:03.427)
What are some as much as you’re comfortable and able to share, what are some of your other client case studies or client testimonials of people coming in and noticing really profound shifts? I have a couple I can think of that I I’m happy to share too, but I’d love to hear some of yours.

Christine Lee (51:15.369)
Yeah.

Yeah, one of the most powerful I think things that I’ve witnessed was a woman who had come in who had who was starting to who was in the early stages of dementia. And when I was talking to her, she just was not present. She would forget, like within 30 seconds, the conversation was gone from her mind. And

This was shocking to me, but within one month of sessions, her caregiver told us that her short-term memory was better, that she could remember things, that she was so much more present. And I did not think or even believe that there were ways to work with clients with Alzheimer’s or dementia. And actually seeing that with my own eyes, seeing someone become more present even though they were in the early stages of dementia was

Very powerful for me. We’ve also had c a client who came all the way down from Northern California who had very s severe mood dysregulation to the point where she could not raise her children anymore. And her goal was wanting to go back to school, wanting to become a better mother. And like the other client, when I talked to her, it was like she was a million miles away. She was not present. It was just she was just existing. And

It was a difficult case that had a lot of medications, a lot of external factors on board as well, but it was jaw-dropping for me to hear that after a month and a half of sessions, this woman was capable of going back to school. That’s how much her functioning was coming back to her.

Christine Lee (53:00.601)
She was capable of being able to take on coursework, and she felt more confident than ever that she could take care of her children again. And that’s not placebo. That’s not a brain like convincing itself that it can do things. That is actual functioning and balance and restoration.

For not just that client, but for the whole family unit. I think that’s where the most powerful stories are. Because when one member of the family is restored, the entire family unit is restored. So we get a mother coming in who brings her spouse, who brings her children, and then we see just an entire infrastructure just

blossom and that’s where I have a lot of my passion in helping families because I think a lot of what families are going through are just the effects of everyone living with a dysregulated brain and not being able to be the best that they can because of the overwhelm that life and parenthood and just everything that children are going through these days that we have to deal with. So just those are the two most just

Frankly, jaw-dropping, reality-defying. I didn’t even think that was possible in the realm of reality stories that I’ve seen. But it’s just rewarding to see like even high school students come in who are so shut in and who can’t perform at school coming back and telling me, I I passed that class. More like not even just passing, but I I have a B in that class, or I think I could get an A the next time around. You can actually see the shifts in people’s

faces and their energy and the way that they talk. The way that I’ve had one woman tell me that, you know, usually I get really triggered when I talk to my family and I’m not able to be present or be as kind as I want to. But at the last family gathering, it just rolled off my back. I could just smile and be compassionate. And even though I heard these words, it’s not

Christine Lee (55:02.031)
Bring my brain into a state of survival. And that’s so simple, but it’s so powerful because it represents a complete shift in the way that this person had.

had been able to interact with their family in the past. And that’s healing, that’s restoration. And that’s that’s why this is so rewarding because I get to see and hear that every day. And not just for my journey, but how it’s affected my family, how it affects other families. That’s why I’m so passionate about bringing this out there to other people because again 98% of the population does not know that this even exists. That you can come in sit in

chair, take a really good nap and see your life change. So with this podcast interview, I hope that there are people out there who have been actively looking for something like this, who hear this and know that there are answers, there are solutions. You do not need to live in a state where you need to accept the fact that you’re stuck and that you can’t realize your full potential. It is very possible and I I live it every day.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (55:46.628)
Hmm.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (56:08.833)
Absolutely. And I’ve had clients who were you know had had a near-death experience and it completely hijacked them and they went in and did Cereset, they felt like they got their life back. I’ve had clients who have brought their children in, children who were experiencing, you know, severe behavioral issues, mood issues, and again it being something that’s completely passive.

the child was able to engage in this modality. Totally great. And now now they’ve told me the child will ask for it and request it and go like, Can I go do Cereset? They can feel themselves getting kind of hijacked again. And so they’ll request it. I’ve had client a client who was suicidal one day, did Cereset the next day, and that ideation was completely gone.

So this is why for me it’s so powerful is it’s non-toxic, non-invasive, and it works so quickly.

Christine Lee (57:12.395)
Yes. And it’s gentle. It’s gentle on the body and the brain. People who have gone like you and I who are very sensitive. You can experience this with just very limited side effects compared to a lot of the other things out there. So for brains and bodies that are so overwhelmed, Cereset was so optimal for me because I wasn’t I was reacting very severely to

like a lot of medications, a lot of modalities that required to dredge up my trauma. So just to sit there and let this gentle like recalibration happen was just the ideal thing for me that I think a lot of people are looking for. And again, even as someone who’s done this for three years now, I understand when people hear about this and think, this is way too good to be true. There is no way that this works.

But again, the reason why we’re still in business is because of the results that people get. I could talk about the science all day long, but the reason why people keep coming to Cereset is because it works and they see how the people around them who have done this, their lives are restored. Not just restored, but optimized. I love working with people who are just excited about how smart that they can be, how strong they can be. Like

Leigh Ann Lindsey (58:33.647)
Mm-hmm.

Christine Lee (58:35.571)
That is so much fun. So I know that Bob Parsons, who used to own GoDaddy, loves Cereset, even to the point where he has a foundation where he’ll pay for Cereset sessions for people in Arizona. So it’s not just for people who are going through hard times or, you know, going through things that they need to be addressed, but it’s also for people who are just looking to optimize their brains. And what fun is that, you know, to see

What is out there for you, you know?

Leigh Ann Lindsey (59:07.107)
Yeah. The last last two I’ll share because just ’cause I think they’re so relevant for the audience is number one, so many of my clients who are working with integrative practitioners, and it might be that they’re experiencing cancer or mold, mast cell activation, but something we’re seeing so much of now is that clients or patients are too sensitive. They can’t they can’t

take medications, they can’t start mold detoxing because even some of these gentle herbals or supplements are way too flaring for them. And these are the cases where I say, I think you need to go to Cereset to settle everything down. And they’ll go to Cereset and their system becomes so much more resilient that they can now actually start some of the protocols their doctors have been wanting to put them on.

Christine Lee (59:57.412)
Exactly. Becoming more resilient so that you can be receptive to things is something that I personally experienced. So I totally understand that and get that and

Again, I believe in it. I’ve seen it. I’ve seen so many people experience what you’ve talked about. And I’ve the one thing that I’m really grateful that we’ve been able to help is help with is if clients do not want to continue on their medications that they’ve been told that they need to rely on on for a lifetime, with the help of their, you know, medical doctor, I’ve been able to help people taper off and not have to rely on them because when the brain is balanced, it does not need to rely on external

final chemical stimuli to help it function. So that’s also a really powerful thing that we are able to help with here if that is within your goals, yeah.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (01:00:50.799)
Right. This is this is the one I wanted to make sure we mention because I have sent a couple of clients to you who that was a big goal for them. And some of them it might be I’m on anxiety medication, I’m on antidepressants. And I’ve sent a client to you who had an episode of psychosis a few years ago and was on very intense antipsychotic medications and

Her goal is I wanted to get off all these medications. I think there were probably three or four of them. And in working with you, in doing some of the work with me, like she’s now down to one medication that she is continuing to actively actively work to get off of. But it’s so profound because I think for some it can give them their life back in that sense. And so that was what I really, really wanted to make sure we mentioned is Cereset can be an amazing resource.

Christine Lee (01:01:27.686)
Yeah.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (01:01:44.917)
in conjunction with your psychiatrist, your medical professionals, your therapist, et cetera, in helping you be able to get off medications if that is a goal or a priority for someone.

Christine Lee (01:01:56.684)
Yeah. And I’m someone who has taken most of the antidepressants out there. I was prescribed

thing after thing that did not work for me. And even when I first came to Cereset, there were just certain medications that I needed to just fall asleep without nightmares. And I can proudly say right now, I do not need to rely on any medications or supplements at all to get good sleep or have stable mood or great energy. And even if it’s a journey, the fact that this is something your brain is capable of is some is what I want people out there to know. Because I think a lot of people think this is just

just what I have to accept for the rest of my life. It it does not have to be that way. Your brain is your brain has answers for you and we help you give we help you find them.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (01:02:46.511)
I love it. So I know you’re one of the things I love about you, Christine, is you’re so receptive. You’re always so excited to get on a phone call with a prospective client. And so one of the things I want to say is of course, as always, in the show notes, your phone number, your email will be listed. And I just want to encourage the audience, if you have questions, feel free to reach out to Christine if you’re like

You know, could this be right for me? Here’s some questions I have, here’s a little bit more about my case, or asking about contraindications. And y you’re so open to getting on a phone call and helping talk someone through all of that.

Christine Lee (01:03:25.483)
Absolutely. And it’s one of the main reasons behind that is because I’ve been in the I’ve been in your like the client perspective. I know what it’s like to be desperate and tired and just looking for a solution. So the one thing that I promise here at my location is that I will be always be honest with the client. If we can help you, we will. If we can’t, I will let you know off the bat. I’m an artist. It’s not natural in my personality to be a salesperson.

Or to convince people of things that they don’t themselves align or resonate with them. So the one thing that I can promise is if you call me, I will be honest, I’ll be genuine, and we will do our very best to help you. And if we can’t, we will let you know and do our best to find other resources that can. So that is the one promise that we give here at Cereset Mission Viejo. We’ll be honest and genuine with you.

Leigh Ann Lindsey (01:04:20.215)
And it’s so true. And I I have sent quite a few clients your way and they’ve all had the most amazing experiences. And it it has been such an impactful resource and modality for all of them, which is why I continue to refer clients to Cereset and to your location specifically because of the trust I have in you and how you’re supporting and tending for my clients who are coming over there. So and everyone who comes through your doors, which is so important.

Christine Lee (01:04:48.471)
We take every single case and story so seriously because I know that I needed that when I came in as a client. So

We we care. We really do. Every single client that comes in is very important to us and whatever you need, like I’m someone who keeps my work phone on me all the time because if people have questions or concerns, I want to address them because I know I had so many of them. So my line is open. I love answering questions. There is no end to the questions I will answer and

I’ll always answer them honestly. It is more important for me that people get the help they need than that they necessarily like, you know, buy a five pack of sessions, you know. So we’re here to change our community and we’re here to give people back their lives. So that’s our main goal. And if we can’t do that, I will be very honest with you and people can tell you that. I will I will turn people away if I feel like I can’t help them. But for the majority, I really do think Sar Sarah.

is something that will restore and give people back their lives in the way that it did for me. So

I love that. Well, Christine, thank you so much. This has been amazing, a long time in coming because we have been collaborating together for, like I said, a good two years now. And so it’s such an honor to get to have you on to share your story and and share more about Cereset with all of us.

Christine Lee (01:06:07.349)
Absolutely.

Christine Lee (01:06:17.217)
Really?

Thank you so much for having me and I’m just so glad that I have a platform that I can share my work with because I want people to know about it. So thank you, Leigh Ann. So happy to be here.
